Steve Breen

breenfaceSTEVE BREEN was born in Los Angeles and attended the University of California at Riverside. He has been the editorial cartoonist for The San Diego Union-Tribune since 2001. His work is nationally syndicated by Creators News Service and regularly appears in USA Today, The New York Times and Newsweek. He is a two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning. Steve has written and illustrated several books for children, including WOODPECKER WANTS A WAFFLE (HarperCollins) and A PERFECT MESS, VIOLET THE PILOT, and PUG AND DOUG (all from Dial/Penguin Random House). He also illustrated BIG BAD BABY by Bruce Hale (Dial/Penguin Random House). Steve lives in San Diego with his wife and children. He enjoys reading, running, playing the guitar and piano and watching old movies on cable.
