Amanda Calatzis

AM_Headshot_LowResAMANDA (MOECKEL) CALATZIS holds an MFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts. Her first word was “light,” and her art shows her enduring obsession with it. Her stories are uplifting and soulful, with touches of magic. She is the illustrator of the forthcoming picture book MISTER ROGERS’ GIFT OF MUSIC by Donna Cangelosi and author-illustrator of KHALIDA AND THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SONG (both from Page Street Kids). Her work has been featured on The Children’s Book Podcast, Seven Impossible Things Before Breakfast, and other popular kidlit blogs. She grew up near an old theme park in Massachusetts and now lives in New York’s Hudson Valley with her husband, two children, and their three senior dogs. You can find her online at amandamoeckel.com, Twitter and Instagram.
