ALEJANDRA MATIZ, known as MATIBA, is a graphic designer and illustrator from Bogotá, Colombia, with an MA in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Her work follows expressive characters and colorful worlds that grow out of everyday moments, turning the ordinary into something a little magical, with plenty of humor, curiosity, and whimsy along the way. It’s bold and color-driven, moving between mixed media, from acrylic gouache and colored pencil to digital, always exploring and combining techniques. She has been recognized by SILA Illustration West, and her work has been featured in SCAD Illustrious (2025 Illustration Showcase), Bold Journey, Voyage Savannah, and Canvas Rebel. She also won the Georgia Power Award at the SCAD SideWalk Arts Festival in 2025. Obsessed with books, animals, and a good cup of coffee, she now resides in Bolingbrook, Illinois.
