DARCY DAY ZOELLS is an author and illustrator from Illinois. She recently illustrated her first book entitled WHEN GOD GAVE US WORDS by Sandy Eisenberg Sasso (Westminster John Knox Press). Darcy can be spotted sketching on trains and buses, and in concert halls and parks throughout the Chicago area. In the studio, she works primarily in watercolor, ink, and pencil, and finishes her images on the computer. Darcy studied Studio Art and Art History at Northwestern University. She is a visual literacy advocate and leads art discussions at the elementary school level. Darcy also designs posters and promotional work for hire. In addition to children’s literature, she is passionate about music, Ancient Roman history, and architecture.
