DARCY DAY ZOELLS is an author and illustrator from Chicago. She illustrated WHEN GOD GAVE US WORDS by Sandy Eisenberg Sasso (Flyaway Books), and her author-illustrator debut, THE NEW BICYCLE, is forthcoming from Clavis Publishing. Darcy’s work has also been recognized internationally. Her piano illustration (featured below) was chosen for “The Children-Spectators”, a special exhibition in conjunction with the Bologna Book Fair. Pianos pop up from time to time in her work since she and her husband run a piano shop with a concert hall and recording facility. Darcy works primarily in watercolor, ink, and pencil, and finishes her images on the computer.
